Schedule of Events

The way we organize our runs is this. Each month, about a week prior to the run we e-mail the club and ask everyone to RSVP for the run by a certain date. Once the date cutoff has passed, an e-mail with all of the run details is sent out to the members who RSVP'd.

The run details generally consist of the name of the Trail guide, the name of the Safety Coordinator, the meeting place and time, a general description of the terrain, and sometimes minimum truck requirements if applicable.

THE SCHEDULE

SPECIAL NOTE: This schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, trail closures, or the identification of new locations to wheel.

EQUIPMENT MINIMUMS - the equipment minimums listed on this page are IN ADDITION to the general vehicle requirements of the club. Remember, we recommend minimum requirements for particular trails to try and keep trail carnage to a minimum, and to keep large groups moving. Minimums are as much for others as they for you.

Sunday 1/13/08
Lakeview Rated 3-4
Southeast Ct, this trail is a great stocker run and much more fun in wet weather. 31" tires and open differentials will be challenged. Mild water crossings, rock work with mud/water, and scenic woods all create a nice trail.

Tuesday 1/29/08
Club Meeting
7:00 pm Sliders, Episcopal Rd Berlin Ct.

Saturday 2/16/08
Legendwood Rated 1-2
Southeastern CT, this is a fairly mild trail. Some mild water crossings and light rock work, with a small hill climb or two. Run in the snow and ice, difficulty level can easily go up. Nice scenic run in the woods of CT.

Sunday 3/3/08
TBA

Saturday 3/15/08
Voluntary Trail Patrol Seminar

Sunday 4/6/08
Mayflower
Private property in CT

Sunday 4/20/08
Old Chester Rated 3-4
This is a fun trail in western MA that will bang you pretty hard if you are driving a truck with 30" tires and a mild lift, so bring more than that if you have it. Old Chester is not a long trail, but you will think it is. This trail makes sure that you stay on your toes and pay attention the entire time you travel what seems like one long boulder patch. And the great news is that when you get to the end and think you are done...you get to turn around and go back... UP HILL! A fun trail, but one that makes the driver work.

Tuesday 4/29/08
Club Meeting
The April Meeting this year will be held on Tuesday April 29th at 7 PM,
Location: Sliders Berlin, CT 197 Episcopal Rd, Berlin, CT 06037 (860) 829-9292
Directions: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF...:to&iwloc=A&f=d

Saturday 5/3/08
MaBell Rated 4-5
Rock, rock, rock! Lots of ledges and steep faces on this western MA trail. We have seen 31” tires do it, but only with more banging and tugging than most wheelers want to deal with. Plenty of hard lines to take with some go-arounds for most of the hard stuff. Jonfund strongly recommends 33s and at least one traction aiding device to minimize the use of go-arounds on this popular trail.

Sunday 5/25/08
Trail in Vane Rated 8-9
Bring everything you've got! This series of trails located in southeastern CT will challenge ANYBODY! There are go-arounds for most of the large obstacles, but the trails are still very challenging. Lots of mud and even more VERY LARGE rocks.

Sunday 8/3/08
Old Florida Road Rated 6-7
Located in northwestern MA, it has been the center of controversy for quite some time now for a good reason! Off road enthusiasts all over New England are fighting hard to keep one of the best trails around open. Large rock patches, steps, and rock "waterfalls" make up most of OFR. A difficult trail with very few go-arounds.

This is one cool place. It has everything from the extreme hardcore to totally tame. The previous  CoolRides were excellent and this year is already looking better! Join us in the Jonfund CoolRide tradition. Check out the CoolRide sub-site by clicking on the CoolRide graphic on our main page.

Saturday 10/25/08
OktoberFest at Stone Gardens
This will be our 8th O'Fest. Traditionally, we find a nice trail in CT to wheel and then head back to Jonfund HQ and dine on some of the best BBQ our club members can cook up. Last year the Jonfund Chefs did the cooking and everyone loved it. If you think that O'Fest is about wheeling, guess again. It is about the food, the brew, the laughs, the awards ceremony and the brew. (Yes, we know we said, "The Brew" twice)

Sunday 11/9/08

Saturday 12/13/08
Rattlesnake Gutter Rated 3-4
Located in Western Mass, this is a stock to mild mod trail with some boulder work, with go-arounds, and some more challenging obstacles for the modified rigs. Not overly difficult but you can still find some nice challenges here as well as some nice views.

Sunday 12/28/08
Pain Hill Rated 1-2

Located in NE CT close to the MA border, this is a fairly mild trail. This is a good trail for stockers or new wheelers to get their feet wet. A couple of obstacles will keep your interest as you meander through the woods enjoying the scenery. Nice scenic run in the woods of CT.
